Blue Cross or Blue Shield?
I am SO sick of Kaiser, I need out! I want a PPO plan where I can choose my doctor form a large assortment and bypass the gp if I want to see a specialist with no hassle. Cost is not as much of a factor as excellent service and happy doctors that make good money when I see them so they have a big incentive to fix me when something goes wrong.

If you need an individual or family policy, you have a bunch of choices depending on where you live. Most PPO plans are going to part of large networks with a wide choice of doctors. You can do a check on ehealthinsurance.com, put in some info and see plans and pricing for your coverage needs. But just since I hate them, avoid Aetna.

Sounds as if you have a valid complaint. Will your job allow you to change to a PPO?

I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU A "HEADS UP" REGARDING YOUR INTEREST IN TAX FREE MUNICIPAL BOND FUNDS. EVEN THOUGH ORDINARY INTEREST/DIVIDENDS ARE TAX FREE, BEWARE OF LONG TERM CAPITAL GAIN DISTRIBUTIONS THAT THE FUND MAY PAY OUT TO ITS SHAREHOLDERS. THEY ARE TAXABLE !!!
