So, you know how chocolate is a "happy" food...?

What would then be a "sad" food.

You know how when you eat chocolate, your emotions lift up and you feel better? What food would do the opposite of that?

And I'm not talking about medicine- just a food.

Chocolate is a happy food because of the chemical effects it has on the brain. It's basically an "upper."

Alcohol would be a good example of a "sad" food - it has a depressive effect.

So I guess Chololate Liqeur is a "moody" food? :-)

I know your probably looking for a more specific food that could make us feel sad but I would think anything the individual person doesn't like to eat would be a "sad" food. I don't like seafood, so just the thought of eating fish makes me sad :)

In general eating fast food or foods high in fat can be a "sad" food. Before you order it, its soo exciting and you are craving it and it seems like a happy food but after you eat it, when your stuffed and can't move and a lot of people feel depressed and slugish, some sick even and if they have any knowledge of calories and health they will also feel very guilty.

ok since chocolate has a chemical that effects the brain to make it an "upper" there is acutally no food that i have found when looking this up that is actually a "downer". i have looked all over the place for this. fatty foods could be deemed a "downer" because of all the oil and grease, but no studies have been done at this time

A sad food would be onions, or a really hot chilly pepper, or somekind of extra strength mustard. Maybe some bitter melon, that should darken your view on things. HEHE!!
