If you had the money, would you buy Shakespeare's First Folio (see link below), and why or why not?

In a heartbeat. If I had that much money, I'd probably have more left to buy other books--and the chance to own a First Folio in that condition would be too good to pass up. For me it would be personal; I work in the theatre, and it's not only the first collection of Shakespeare's plays, it's the first time ANYBODY's plays were collected into one volume.

Plus it would be the ultimate coffee table book--have you seen the size of that thing?!

You know, it doesn't matter to me what edition I read of a book, really, as long as the text is accurate and true to the original. I have a volume of the complete works of Shakespeare and that suits me just fine.

I'd buy his will before I'd buy that, but it is a valuable book. I think I'd rather get an early edition as a set of other books than the very first edition... that is a ton of money, and for my money I'd rather have a few really nice books than just one which isn't appreciably nicer (i.e. no hand illuminations or stuff like that).

Woe! I completely would. That would be like, a lifetimes worth of reading, philosophy, and disscussion. Sweet.
