anyone know what kind of tree this is?

    I saw some trees that look like this recently on my trip to Eygpt. They looked like really tall palm trees with something hanging down like that. I was told they were date trees.

    Well looks like some kind of palm tree. However palm trees are not trees at all but a kind of tuber or cactus .
