firefox keeps hanging?

i'm using the latest version of firefox and it keeps hanging every 2-3 mins. i've checked my computer for all spyware and viruses and this problem still exists. this problem doesnt occur when i'm using IE though. anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Update:

the thing is that i've installed some extensions and themes for firefox too...so if i uninstall and re-install will i lose them?

    The best way is to reinstall the whole firefox... it can rhat some of the plugins like Acrobat Reader, Flash etc has bugs, upgate those to...

    Cheak what plugin FF[Firefox] has by typing about:plugins in addresbar of ur FF...
