How well will it perform?

I just bought a 12" S-DAT subwoofer. Before you start laughing, it was on sale for only $20, so why not? Anyways, it's supposed to be 500 watts max. Have any of you ever experienced the sound from SDAT products? What should I expect? It might go into the trunk of my 4 Dr 99 Accord. Recomendations? Thanks.

SDAT is a low performance product. My recommendation is that you use a moderate to high power amp and put it up half way. EXAMPLE: MTX Road thunder Amp 250x2 RMS @ 4 Ohms, connect everything properly for a 2 sub set up, TURN THE AMP ALL THE WAY DOWN, crank the volume to your standard highway volume, lower your bass to max negative reading, and slowly turn up the Amp until it sounds right.

If your intent is not to do serious modification then just put them in a sealed box, if you want the MAX performance get a ported box and cut holes if your rear deck lid. then put piping so the port holes from your box reach the deck lid this will cause the compression to direct to the cabin.

Unfortunately I have no sources for you but I can say this much I have been in car audio for 10 years and won numerous meets.

It should be loud enough to make the other people at the stop lights mad
