What is an "Executive" MBA???

I'm considering different options for my masters degree/MBA. I see different Executive MBA programs, but I don't see an explanation. Does anyone know what the difference is???

Update:

If it's a non-full time MBA...is it any different than getting a part-time MBA??? Come on people, 2 POINTS!

It's generally more selective from an experience perspective and usually meets weekends instead of nights or weekdays.

    i.e.

Full-Time means 5 days a week and you usually do not work while going.

Part-Time or Evening means 2-3 nights a weekday and you usually work full-time while going.

Executive means Saturday/Sunday (sometimes Friday night) classes and usually requires significant work experience, you usually work full-time while going.

Usually, an Executive MBA program is specifically designed for people who have already achieved in the field without their MBA, but now wish to go back and get the degree.

Could be the class type -- work during the day, go to school at night -- or it could mean that the coursework has some emphasis in managment (HR, Org behavior, etc.) over grunt work (accounting, english, etc).

My MBA had several emphasis paths to choose from. I took the non-profit managment path. Others took the Sports Facility and Events emphasis. Some went for the finance/economics path. Some just took the classes that worked with their schedule. Best bet is to call the school offering the program and ask them what makes it and "executive" program.

relies upon on the region, MBA renowned = not Required! in case you desire that activity & do not have an MBA, then insure you may challenge an similar characteristics that an MBA challenge, which incorporates dedication to learning, strategic wondering, extreme profile contacts, resources, etc... There are alot of factors to guage, yet in my journey the itemizing of an MBA renowned meant that candidate ought to bypass into more suitable positions in the corporation, according to their learning curve.

The only difference I can see is that the Executive one is for busy professionals who already have a job.

Executive means that it is geared towards individuals that currently work. When I did mine, all of my classes met once a week for 4 hours a night, which was great due to my work schedule.

It's a non-full-time MBA (work while you study)
