firefox hanging again?
ok my firefox (v1.5) keeps hanging up for no reason. i have uninstalled it and re-installed it, but it had no effect. i also tried running it in firefox's safe mode, but it was hanging then too. can anyone tell me why this is happening and what the solution is? i know that my installation file isnt corrupt because i used it to install firefox in my friend's computer and he's not been having problems.

There`s a variety of reasons your firefox could be feezing. Most commonly it`s the extensions people download, but since you just installed it this shouldnt be the problem.
When firefox freezes you should click control alt delete, click the task manager, and order by cpu use, to see which program is actually freezing. If it`s svhosts, dont blame firefox. See the (www.jimmyr.com/blog/Svhosts_100_memory_usage_slowing_down_computer89_2006.php svhosts crashing page).
If you have zone alarm or some other firewall, make sure firefox isnt blocked. That would obviously cause it to `hang` because the program freezes while it`s trying to connect to the internet but can`t.
Try downloading an old version of firefox, search oldversion firefox on google. See if those work. Try another browser like avast or the new internet explorer beta 7.
Try checking what`s connecting to your comp. start ->run->netstat -b.
Good luck. It`s probably not firefox. It could be a number of things.
