Can anyone tell me what's water retension? I've been hearing about it for quite some time, but I have no idea.

Update:

Whoops - it's RETENTION with a T! Sorry for the spelling error! =p

Update 2:

No symptoms... LOL - just curious coz' I drink a lot before going to bed, I'm scared that if I drink a lot - it won't get out and I'll be stuck with excess baggage (call me a paranoid if you will... =p)

water retention would mean that you are excreting water less than what you are taking in...what are the symptoms? physically, your legs or arms or face got edematous. Sometimes person who have thius type of problem, is quite irritable because he or she feels uncomfortable, or there are feelings of fullness in the bladder. Others might lead to pulmonary problems, like coughing, or very chesty...because some fluids will go to the lungs...pulmonary overload...thanks

It just means that your body is retaining water. So, to make your body release the water that is being retained you need to drink more water and avoid caffeine.

bodies retain water when they aren't getting enough water. its the body's way of ensuring it has enough water to run efficiently. if you are retaining water, drink more. you'll be peeing and sweating a lot at first, but this will flush out the exess water.

If you are retaining water, it could be caused by something serious. Heart problems, kidney problems, etc. It is better to go get it checked if it is continuous.
