i think it had something to do with planet names like saturday from saturn monday is from moon

From the top of my head, I may be wrong on some.
Monday = Moon day
Tuesday; I don't know
Wednesday = Woden's Day
Thursday = Thor's day
Friday = Freyda's day
Saturday = Saturn's day
Sunday = Sun's day

GOD????? I'm not sure now. Monday was picked because we needed to have seven days in all.If it wasn't called Monday it would be called something else,so we have to live with it.

I have no idea, but whomever named it Monday, by any other name it would still be as rotten as a Monday!
