If you feel like there's a tickle in your throat that's causing you to cough, you can try an antihistamine like Benadryl or Claritin. If that isn't the case, try plain Robitussin (you don't need the DM, that just helps get mucus out of your lungs), plain Robitussin has a cough suppressant that will help control your cough.

I'd say it's most likely allergens in the air now that spring is starting, that always affects me with a dry cough. Try some sudafed. I really like the wal-mart brand of the non-drowsy 12 hour sudafed. It helps me. If it starts to get congested or hurt your chest or anything, I'd see a doctor.

Cool mist humidifier. Cough drops. Increase your fluids, water especially. Over the counter cough suppressants.

Is it productive, if so, what color and consistency and odor. Also, do you smoke. Do you have any allergens. When does the cough happen? In the morning, at night, randomly.... Provide as much information as possibe.
