How do I rate someone's answer even if I havnt asked the question?N how do I know if my reply has been liked?

"Click on a category on the left side of the Answers page.

To rate an answer, click on any question in the area titled "Discover something new. Browse resolved questions."

You'll be able to rate the question with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down."

If you know something about the question, and the answer seems correct give it a thumbs up. Otherwise a thumbs down. To tell if your reply has been liked you have to "pick the best answer" section and pick an answer as best then you will be shown how many picked your answer. The whole thing could be a little more accommodating.
