Anyone ever used tea as a stain for aged looking paper?
I want to know if I use tea to stain paper for that aged look will it smell bad or mold in the future. Has anyone out there tried it? I've seen it done on DYI shows, but they don't talk about this.

Yes you can use tea and depending on the type of antique look you want depends on the tea,
Dark, Gold, Green,
Alsoill not mold later on if kept tightly in a book for awhile till all agents completely die from lack of oxygen,
I hope this helps you,
you cal also use coffee

What you do is make a "spot of tea". Then you get a paintbrush and dip it in your tea and brush it over your paper. Let it dry for about 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how much you brushed it. After that, to make it look really aged, you can get a lighter or match and burn the bottom right edge and the middle side on the left side of the paper. To put the fire out, just pour some water over it when you're ready. You don't want the fire to completely burn your paper. Probably have someone in the room with you, waiting to pour water over it. Don't soak it though. Good luck, be careful, and have fun.

I have only used it on a medicine cabinet for the bathroom that I painted antique white, sanded in places to make it look aged then rubbed the damp tea bags all over it. It is beautiful. What is really cool is that I got the cabinet at a closeout store for $2.69 and already had the paint and tea!

Yes I have tried it on paper and also fabric. Just make the tea very strong so that it absorbs quickly and not leave the paper soggy.
