The only way to change you body long term is to change your lifestyle. For me, I can not give up eating good food, so I have established an exercise routine. It's best to do a mix of cardio/weights, because with cardio only, you'll hit a wall eventually when your metabolism adjusts. If you build up a little muscle, that in itself helps burn off calories.

Keeping weight off isn't always as easy as everyone wants to make it seem. I'm very good at looking at my weight loss and giving myself "permission" to have a little treat or something I wouldn't have had the week before. Thus begins the great sabotage. What has worked for me is to remember I feel great and look great. I've worked very hard to get where I am. I never let myself gain more than 5 lbs. If I have, I simply go back to my program until I have a grip again. I also like to workout, you have to find your nitch and keep it going. It's best to change things up every so often so you don't get bored. Eating is actually the biggest factor. You have obviously found something that has worked for you. Assuming its been a healthy weight loss, you may have to make minor adjustments to maintain your current lose. That way you don't lose too much. You have to make very subtle changes and not too many. Adding more fruit or veggies is best. It is also very helpful to find a support group that kind of helps you stay true to yourself and to be accountable. There are several support groups on-line that you can plug into. Weight watchers, as e-diets and ivillage all have support groups as well as other resources. Better yet, find a buddy who you can meet with, maybe once a week that you can be accountable to. Congrats and good luck!!

I lost ten pounds last year on a very low calorie diet. I increased my caloric intake gradually once the weight was off. I eat about a half of what I used to.

Don't forget to exercise. It is great for your heart and your spirits. You don't have to go to a gym to do it. You could walk or even dance in the comfort of your home to your favorite music for a cardiovascular workout.

Eat a lot of leafy greens and bright oranges and reds like mangos, tomatoes, oranges, collard greens and lettuce, as these are low in calories. Don't forget to eat at least 8 to ten servings of carbohydrates. Whole grains are better for you and keep you full longer.
