What is your favorite prayer?

I'm just curious to know what your favorite prayer is. You don't have to give a reason why you like this prayer.

I have a favorite prayer. I'll post it in additional details in a while. :)

Update:

My sincere thank you for all your honesty. My sincere respect for all your beliefs and/or non-beliefs :)

Update 2:

My favorite prayer is from the movie The 13th Warrior:

Merciful Father, I have squandered my days with plans of many things. This was no among them. But at this moment, I beg only to live the next few minutes well.

For all we ought to have thought and have not thought. All we ought to have said and have not said. All we ought to have done and have not done. I pray thee, God, for forgiveness.

    The Serenity Prayer

    God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

    Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law

    THE CRY OF THE HAWK

    Hoor hath a secret fourfold name: it is Do What Thou Wilt.

    Four Words: Naught-One-Many-All.

    Thou-Child!

    Thy Name is holy.

    Thy Kingdom is come.

    Thy Will is done.

    Here is the Bread.

    Here is the Blood.

    Bring us through Temptation!

    Deliver us from Good and Evil!

    That Mine as Thine be the Crown of the Kingdom, even now.

    ABRAHADABRA.

    These ten words are four, the Name of the One.

    Love is the law, love under will

    I like to pray from th Bible itself, it has some great prayers and praises. I also like the Lords Prayer, but I also pray many personal prayers, and spend time praising God in my own actions or words.

    I don't think people realize how many different ways that we can relate to God emotionally:

    Praise - I tell God all the ways he is so good

    Waiting - I just close my eyes and be silent in his presence

    Petition - I ask him for good things and needs in my life

    Thanksgiving - I thank him for all of the good things he has done for me

    Ask - Ask him specific questions you have about your life

    Forgiveness - I think about the people that have affected me negatively and tell Him that I forgive them and ask Him to help them not to do those things again.

    Intercession - I pray for people I know that have needs.

    If prayer is a personal act between you and God, why are there silly little prayer books? Are these for followers who can't think on their own?

    Prayer to me is a conversation with God. Since he knows all about me anyway there is no need to say a memorized prayer or use fancy words. I just speak to him as I am speaking (typing) to you now.

    I like that jfg1204! I always say a prayer with my kids at night it is. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, if I shall die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take!"

  • The Lord's prayer-- the most important prayer, the most meaningful, and the one that says everything:

    Our father, who art in heaven;

    Give us this day our daily bread;

    And forgive us our trespasses;

    As we forgive those who trespass against us;

    And lead us not into temptation;

    But deliver us from evil.

    For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory;

    Forever and ever;

    AMEN.

    The Holy Rosary

    Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.
