Should American Idol judges be American talent scouts?

Yes, but when the show first started, it needed a hook to get people watching. So they did a few TV stereotypes:

1.) A celebrity who is at least on the B list (Paula)

2.) A foreigner who's gotta sharp tongue (Simon)

3.) A minority who knows a little something about the business (Randy)

Collectively, they made a fitting team for a show that was questionable from the start.

I think Simon is the only smart one of the bunch, which would make sense because he's British. That said, I also believe he can make good talent choices, because like I said before, the guy is British.

British are always smarter than Americans, when it comes to American Idol.

I don't care about American idol it caters to one from of music. They should rename it American begees search. If you like that high pitch f aggy tone that American idol is searching for. I respect musical talent that makes it own there own. I wouldn't suck anyone off for a ticket to Hollywood.

sure...simon does it sometimes...and randy jackson could do it too...if he was just a little more well known like simon cowell...as for paula..i don't think so because she's only been a singer and not really a producer for music.
