What exactly are the benefits of drinking green tea?

I know it is good for me so I have been drinking it but I don't care much for the taste so I usually dunk a tea bag flavored with fruit in with it and am wondering if that counteracts the benefits.

    It won't counteract the benefits. Green tea is a good source of anti-oxidents and it's a thermogenic as well, meaning that it raises your core temperature and speeds up your metabolism so you burn more calories. That's why it's an ingredient in tons of fat burners.

    Adding flavor to the tea does not change the benefits it just changes or add a different flavor to it, i add honey to mine, here's some health benefit.

    Reduces high blood pressure. Drinking green tea represses angiotensin II which leads to high blood pressure.

    Lowers blood sugar. Green tea polyphenols and polysaccharides are effective in lowering blood sugar.

    Green tea is a good weightloss tool, like many tea's, it curbs your appetite. Also its a good stress reliever. Adding fruit is not going to lessen the effect.

    It's supposed to keep you "regular" and it's also supposed to help you lose weight. Personal experiences tell me that these are both true. I used a brand from a local chinese restaurant.

    egcg is some good thing, theanine makes you relaxed, caffeine more alert, antioxidants stop free radicals from damaging you.
