How many other participants here at Answers are tired and/or sickened by those who abuse others?

I am sad to bring this up, but I think it is important we address the abusers who come to this forum. When I go to report abuse, there is not a category for plain abusiveness towards others. I think we need to let the head honcho's here at Answers know we need this category and let them also know we are tired of seeing others, especially our youngest members being verbally abused. Thanks for your support and/or opinion

Update:

It is great to see how many others really care about seeing abusive behaviors stopped. As for abuse being subjective, I don't think the one feeling the abuse would say that. It is also naive to think that anyone here under seventeen derserves what they get for being here under seventeen. I am just happy to see those who agree that abuse anywhere is just not acceptable. As for getting my own "site" I consider myself a member of this site. As a member of a community, I feel a reponsibility in reporting what I see as abuse. I thank every single one of you for you comments and suggestions.

Very good point, I couldnt' agree more.

Don't you just hate people who leave stupid answers to honest questions......see your first reply.

Perhaps the moderators could hold a members' survey ????

How do YOU define abuse? Is it the same for me? Maybe it is. The problem is they have an extensive list of issues, pick one that comes the closest to explaining, and then add your comments. That's what it's there for.

Now, on the younger set, I really don't think most of these topics are for anyone under 17. But that's my opinion and if I had kids they wouldn't be allowed to be on this. That's where people start acting like parents, instead of being on their own website.

You cannot keep all the bad things away, you'll chase your tail doing it. If you want something that is non-abusive (in your opinion) doesn't hurt the self-esteem of young people, and all over "good" then I suggest trying another site, or build your own (I'm not being sarcastic).

No, I don't agree with the way people treat others. But, I'm not delusional enough to think that I can change Yahoo! Answers. I believe someone stated before, if you don't like it don't look at it.

I'm with you on this. There is definitely a need for such a choice.

For one thing there should be a minimum age here, there are a lot of neglected children spending their time here instead of motivating their minds. Not to say that young people need not be here at all, but I find that they are usually doing the abusing, not receiving it. If they are being mistreated it's simply another reason they need not be on under the age of let's say 16.

Second there are quite a few silly adults, in which case they should just be ignored and reported. I also find not responding to small minded adults is also helpful, when they realize they are dealing with intelligent people and not folks on thier minimal level, they usually stay away. They simply can't handle it.

I think anyone that abuses someone that isn't deserving should be reported. I know I have reported a few. That goes for people and animal abuse. I think they should stop and think before putting some-one down. Some people need desperate help and then you get a terrible reply . Then They should be reported. It is a tough enough world . So please don't abuse the ones that don't deserve it . God Bless you for your question.

I feel there are plenty of categories for reporting abuse on Yahoo! Answers. There are so many, it is difficult to know where to place it sometimes. I think there are definitely individuals who slip through the cracks, but that's life. You may want to ask yourself WHY you are taking this so seriously. Think about it. Good luck!

No matter what you do someone is gonna be offended.

If you don't like it don't read it.

not meaning to sound like a butt, but I have had the same complaint as you and the I got to thinking. If you elimanate a few then who's next?YOU!!It's possible. As much as someone offends you,you in turn could be offending them or others.I say let them blow just delete what you don't like,or soon no one will have freedom. I guess it's kinda like saying"he among you without sin cast the first stone"

I would be interested in seeing some statistics on the number of abuse reports. % by types of abuse.

It is to be expected given the intelligence level demonstrated by some users. I make a lot of spelling errors because I am partly blind, but some of these answers......wow!

    God love the peace makers!
