Merc 110 , 9.8 h.p. boat motor, need info.?
This motor is white with black lettering. Never seen a mercury motor any color except black.Need info regarding approx. age, before I consider purchasing.
Serial no. is 1618916. I am familiar with Merc.'s back to mid- 70's however this motor does not appear to have more than just a very few hours on it.
I have owned Mercury outboards dating back to 1972, and they were all black with silver, red, or blue lettering.From the shape of the cowling, this motor is probably pre-1968.

Mercury just started making black motors a short time ago. This motor was probably made in the early 90's or maybe even before. However, if it is has been taken care of and still starts and runs good, it is probably still of good quality.
