Boston Marathon or New York Marathon: which do you think is more prestigious?
i say New York, because that's the one i'd personally rather run for aesthetic reasons, and because Boston has become watered down with charity runners to the point that the qualifying standard doesn't matter if you have enough money. Boston has lost its place as the world's most important marathon in my mind. am i crazy?

New York has become a world class event, thanks in large part to the great Fred Lebow (God rest his soul). But Boston still has history and tradition on it's side so I'll still say Boston.

It is the best known and oldest, and has history and tradition.
