how do you rust die cast?

I have a die cast scale 1:35 car and I need it to rust badly. I know that seems strange. I already heavily scuffed the paint, taking some of it completely off. I then soaked it in salt water and lemon juice for a couple days and now have it sitting out. I know that die cast does not rust easily so any other hints would help greatly.

What the "fake" junk die cast modelers do is use rust colored paint. You can make your own "rust paint" by scraping rust off iron and mixing it with fingernail polish or a small amount of varnish. Then paint it on the car.

As you know aluminum doesn't really "rust".
