Do the majority of Christians agree with Fred Phelps "God hates fags" Ministry?

No. He's an idiot. That's so sad too. Go to a funeral where this persons family is mourning and preach hate? That's horrible.

Most Christians do not believe as this man proclaims. He is beyond radical in his delusions of preaching God as hating anyone. The Bible and most religions teach us that God only hates the sin."all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" There is only one sin greater than any other and it is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 12:31

And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

So if God truly hates the homosexual, He would also hate all of us, for we all are sinners, until we are born again, through Jesus Christ. Which would mean that this man is proclaiming a god of hate, not our GOD of love.

NO. I believe that God does not HATE "fags" (which , by the way, I think is a really awful way of putting it). I do not hate homosexuals. I think that if you are a Christian, you should obey God's law and not have sex with the same sex...which by no means rules out having relationships...but ultimately, it is between you and God. If, however, you are not a Christian, then basically you have relied on your own judgements for your whole life...why stop now?

As for this man, he is like many who bring a bad view on Christians as insensitive, unfeeling, and harsh. He clearly needs to rethink his views, and reconnect with the Father.

Of course not. Even the vast majority of Christians who believe that homosexuality is a sin also believe that God loves homosexuals. And with good reason: John 3:16 doesn't say "God so loved the world (except for gays)..." God loves everyone; Jesus died for the sins of the whole world -- homosexuals included. (1 John 2:2)

As for Phelps, well, he's...I believe the theological term is "headline-grabbing jackass."

Actually the Phelps family, when they came to a small city near here, helped bond the community together in a "Stop hate" campaign. I have studied God's word, and no where in it do I find anything but evidence that everyone, gay, straight, purple, tangerine, male or female is a precious child of God. God loves us all! Jesus never said a single word about honosexuality. He did warn us not to judge, or we would be judged ourselves. Hmmm...

He and his weirdo-clan picketed a soldier's funeral in my town. He's a whack-job. He has a website that's very disturbing. He has pictures of a few people who were gay who died either by AIDS or another tragedy...He has animated flames around their faces and an automatic calender that shows how many days "so-and-so" has been in hell. It's a horrible site. I don't agree with his ministry. He's in for a rude awakening when he finally passes on.

That's such a terrible thing to say! Christianty and God teaches tolerance and forgiveness, not Hate. God loves everyone remember? How could a pithy human tell us what God wants, thinks, likes and doesn't like? I find people like Fred Phelps heretics because they are trying to play God.

I do not think so. Majority of Christians believe "Love the sinner, hate the sin." I knew many homosexuals, and I treated them no differently, save for more prayers for them. If anything, I loved them more, as I know I should. They need it, I believe. No, that "God hates fags" stuff needs to be removed from people's minds...it is complelely incorrect.

No. A lot of Christians strongly disagree with his message and his methods. I suppose every group has its extremists, but Fred Phelps is a disgrace to those who know that God certainly does not hate those who sin. After all, if he did none of us would have a chance at salvation. ("While we were STILL SINNERS Christ died for us.")

The Phelps Family proposes to KNOW the mind of God....they will reap what they sow...as we all will. Mind you...my faith is smaller than a mustard seed.

And as far as people not being allowed to live due to the beliefs of others....there are similar mind sets in the middle east....careful where you dispense hate for it is a social boomerang and will come back to bite you.......when it comes to CHOOSING to judge others, where do you draw the line???

No!!!! The bible says that God loves everyone even his enemies. God created us all. So Fred Phelps needs to start reading the bible a little bit more and praticing good christian love and jesus calls us to do. Not only that but the bible states that we shouldn't judge others lest we be judged.
