"Those who hold to the theory of mixed race do so without proof, often relying on the research of William Estabrook Chancellor (William Estabrook Chancellor: william estabrook chancellor (september 25, 1867-february 4, 1963)...

[follow hyperlink for more...]) for details of Harding's supposed African-American lineage. There is no scientific or legal basis for these arguments. Chancellor's work never provided clear indications of his resources, or his proof. In fact, so few copies of his book exist—one of five known copies is owned by a private book collector in Marion, Ohio (Marion, Ohio: more facts about this subject) —that its availability to modern scholars is limited at best. Furthermore, there has never been a test of Harding's DNA. The claim is also impossible to verify through public records in Ohio (Ohio: A midwestern state in north central United States in the Great Lakes region) ; Harding was born in 1865, and the state of Ohio did not require registration or recording of births until 1867. Furthermore, Chancellor's theories find no basis in Federal Census Records, nor in probate court records. Harding's 1923 California (California: A state in the western United States on the Pacific; the 3rd largest state; known for earthquakes) -issued death certificate also indicates nothing to suggest Chancellor's theories were accepted as fact. With the release in the 1960s of Francis Russell (Francis Russell: more facts about this subject) 's The Shadow of Blooming Grove, the specter of Harding's mixed blood was again raised and, lacking factual sources, quickly put down as innuendo."

No, you heard wrong. the USA has never had a black president.

Warren Harding was our 29th president. He was also a diehard gambler who lost a priceless White House china set (that belonged to the people) in one of his poker games.

He was referred to as "Wobbly Warren" by many in congress at the time (early 20's).

He was hugely popular when he died. Which is pretty good for a guy who didn't know what the hell he was doing.

After Harding's death he was succeeded by sleepy head Calvin Coolidge whose inactivy and passiveness was one of the main reasons why this country went into it's worst depression.
