Are emachine computers the worst ones to buy?

I've had mine for a couple months,and already my dvd drive went out,I had to get another one.

    I've had one for 7 years that still works great & another I had for 4 years that is still going strong (only errors I hacv eever seen had to do with Micro$oft's OS bugs). Did you get this new or refuirbished? Either way I would think the seller would take care of them

    BTW - my choice for novice users is Dell. They are a bear to repair, but they hardly ever break & Dell's service is top-notch.

    E-machines have actually improved over recent years compared to before. Don't know if they are THE worst but among the top 5 I'm sure. Dell and Gateway are in the running too.

    Even machine that are better have problems.

    It's not the worst machine...their almost like a barebones system, just the basics.

    If you want to make it fast install more ram 512 meg is more than good enough and maybe a new Video Card.

    It will make you machine as different as night and day.

    I've had gateway, dell, compaq, and emachine. They all seem about the same to me.
