Carolina Vines?
I have these vines that look like a rose bush on the bottom and a climbing asparigus on top that are choking out my trees.
They have large bulbs underground resembling an odd shaped potato.
My husband asked if he could eat the tubers? Are they edible?

They actually sell them at garden centers in NC. The name escapes me---dig one and take it to a garden center and ask them to ID--I believe they may have been eaten by Indians, as nasty and thorny ar they are they probably taste like a nasty parsnip. If the garden center can't do call the county extension.
