Why are people using the immigration problem as a forum to preach racist hate?

Racists are just like every other politically active group. If an opportunity is presented which seems to lend their views credence they will seize that opportunity. I personally am glad when they spout off their views in public. The best part of freedom of speech is we get to identify the morons in our society before they can cause real damage.

Just to let you know - people have been saying those things for much longer than this forum - so nothing new here.

Lets not forget that we are not talking about the Mexican immigrants (or any others) that are here legally - we are talking about ENFORCING THE LAW by strengthening our means to fight illegal terrorism - why is that wrong? Why is it wrong to actually enforce the law and punish those who violate it?

There are fools in every crowd.

Often it is the Mexican Lobby itself that does this in order to gain sympathy. Very few, if any Americans, are truly racist - be it to Mexicans, Blacks, etc.

However, I would characterize the behavior of the Pro Amnesty protestors as racist - they raised Mexican flags in our country and carried signs supporting the radical group MECHA.

I agree that we must do something about the illegal immigration problem in the USA but the racist rhetoric just makes our point of view look bad.

It's not racist to dislike people breaking the laws of out nation and trying to destroy our society and culture.

What the illegals are doing is far more racist.

I know exactly what you mean.They ask questions like "do all mexicans have diseases" and when you call them racist they turn around and call you a racist.It's a vicious cycle.

put it a different way, if ur not s'pose 2 b in the country, so u cannot claim benefits, u cannot put ur name down for anything, u cannot use I.D, these people will do anything to live, including crime!!!!!!!!!!

they're venting their frustrations. to an extent. the rest in unchecked nationalism. usually runs rampant in middle america.

people will use any forum to spread their message. this one just allows them to be heard by more people unfortunately =(
