The only reason people think that rap music is crap is that they only see mainstream rap such as dumb@ss 50 Cent. There are more quality MC's out there such as Nas, Kanye West, Rakim, and Common. There's also Tupac and Biggie (R.I.P.)

So don't judge a book by it's cover.

Rap music is poetry. But there are plenty forms of rap that hold no quality. I don't listen to it much myself but I know there are rap artists of quality. Like Lauren Hill. Beautiful. Then there is rap crap like 50 cent or Lloyd Banks, who are incredibly degrading figures who don't accurately represent artists of their genre. Bad rap is rapping about bitches and guns and rims. There's art in rap that goes beyond that.

Finally a question I can skool you on. Rap isn't for everyone. Rap started in the street and was made for the street, and it talks about life and issues from the street. it was't meant for the mainstream, or middle class America. But it was a way for the poor, the low-income etc, to let middle-class America know that everything in America ain't roses, not to let alone they know how to have fun too.

Now peep this. Only reason rapp is such a powerful music catergory and getting stronger everyday is because it brings in money to the major record labels. Think! it started in the streets of New York in parties and underground clubs. My opinion also is that it added to the MCing and the Dj's who promoted the records and contest. It caught own quick, it was the in thing for the in crowd.It started making money off underground record labels, and more money and more money. Before you know it it's hitting every street in every major city. then the major record labels catch on they see $$$. then it's exploited on major black radios across the country. it hit's videos, it hit's advetisments, every major market in the country. middleclass america(teenagers that is) catch on in the clubs. but wut reaaly strike them is the reality in rap, which spoke the truth. Then came the shock value from the cuss words that brioke boundaries, then to add to all that let's not forget the collaberations with Heavy Metal, pop, R&B, classical, folk, country, reggae, spanish, Asian, music which kept it's flava.

Now everyone hears rapp. Most kids love it. it's always here to stay cause it reinvent itself every 5 yr's. and peeople in evey hard street in the world got somethin to say, so now rapp is world wide.

But middleclass America don't understand one thing today. And that's the roots of rapp. It's from the street. If you hate it so what. It's not for you. The people in the heart of our cities, the young generation will always relate. So grin and bare it.

Well, I can't say all are crap, but a large majority are! They are just yelling in scratchy throats about sex, drugs, and getting laid (again, just sex). They curse and dance with girls while wearing 10 lbs of 'bling'. It is a pathetic form of so-called 'music' and should be stopped. Also, the whole 'white rapper' appeal Eminem started should stop. Him marrying and divorcing is tiring; the songs about his family are all the same; and, he looks like he is an oversized 14-year-old.

Not all rap songs are crap. There are soom good one's. I think reggaeton is crap! Its a fad and bound to become unpopular eventually. What goes up...must come down.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some rap songs have meaning to them, like Kanye West : Jesus Walks. Im a Christian and i love that song!!!!!!! And some other ones have meanings to like... Chamillionarre: Ridin. Hes expressing how he feels about dirty cops.

Yes, more than that they are the white sun baked dog crap you see in the summer time.
