    From a biblical perspective, the Chicken came first. Birds were created in on the fifth day (Genesis 1:21) And "beasts of the earth" (i.e. not of air or sea) were created on the sixth day (Genesis 1:24). Man was not created until after all the other animals (Genesis 1:26)

    From an evolutionary perspective, I'm not sure. But I think birds evolved before mammals.
