I am prior Air Force and it was the best thing I ever did. I work along side people from other braches who would say to me they wish they had joined the Air Force. You get excellent training, you meet some of the best people, and unlike other branches, the Air Force really takes care of their people. Make sure you sign up for the G.I. Bill.

If you don't have any problem doing what you are told when you are told, then 9/10's of your problems will disappear. choose your job carefully, don't come in Open Anything, you will regret it. Basic and Tech School is NOT the real military so don't make your final judgment there, it is all a big mind game. if you are dead set on the AF (I love it) come in with any 1AXXX AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code), Being an flier has some perks. and yes there are enlisted fliers (not pilots thou). Overall benefits are pretty similar across the board for the different branches (GI Bill, medical, etc). for anything else, just start busting out some specific questions.
One last thing, if your recruiter is in a complex with other recruiters, don't be surprised if the AF recruiter has a small corner office while the Navy and Army have large decked out offices. We don't need as much flash and flare to get people.

I was navy, and to be honest, it is rough, I won't lie. Can you drop at the sound of a pin and do what is needed? Can you bust your *** out in sea, working, cleaning, and doing more paperwork than a cop does? The training, the work, and even the whole thing is rough, BUT, there are upsides to it all. Shore leave is a pleasure that the rest wont recieve like us, I've been to alot of places, and I won't name them all. I worked with a crew I can trust, and still have in my life not as friends but as family. And working 4 years for a paycheck the rest of my life is great too. Not to mention help to go to school. Make your choice, stand by it, and never back down. good luck, and uhhh.... hope you don't ***** too much in boot camp, do it and get it over with.

All the armed forces have a specific role to play in the defense of the country. So the question to ask yourself is where can I get the most out of the time I am giving in the service of our country.

The Air Force is easy, but you don't get any respect from the other services. I've heard that airmen spen about eight hours a day folding clothes at basic.
