Immigration Boycott tomorrow....?

I think that it is ridiculous for them to do what they are doing. It makes me angry that they are doing that. I am not racist and don't want to sound that way, but I live in Texas and down here the majority of the population is Hispanic. A lot are illegal aliens. It seems to me that they come here and take over everything but they don't try to adapt to our ways and better themselves. They refuse to learn our language and refuse to make themselves a responsible citizen. I pay taxes and I take care of business and live as a responsible citizen and I don't think that it is fair that they don't do these things and still get the same privileges as me. Again I don't want to sound racist, I really am not, in fact I am great friends with some Hispanic families that are really great people. But they are legal and they are responsible and pay taxes. I think that everyone who participates in these boy-cots tomorrow should be fired for not coming to work and penalized for not going to school. I don't care what they think but this is America and if they are going to come here then they need to jump pn board and get with the program. Anyways I will step off of my soapbox now. Thanks!

As far as the askers question, I'm really not sure why they come here illegally. I don't think it's right. I'm a moderate liberal (in the middle of the liberal spectrum), but I think the governments policy on illegals are too liberal.

This problem was not caused by the liberals or the conservatives in recent times. I thinkthe government really just has never waken up and smelt the coffee. They need to analyze this situation. They can enter the U.S. if they wish, but they NEED to be legal.

They think it's ok or should be ignored by the U.S. because it has been going on for years. Many of these people find work picking crops and doing jobs that are menial, paid by people that avoid paying fair wages typically cash under the table, which cheats all of those that DO pay taxes to the government. Two types of criminal behavior are at work in all of this 1. the person coming into the country illegally and 2. the person/company that employs them. Getting any work at all is a gift for these people since they have zero opportunities in their own country.

You raise some very good points. I too am not racist. In fact, one of my good friends is an illegal immigrant (who recently became legal), but thet fact is, they are ruining our economy. They come into the country, earn wages, and don't pay taxes. Basically, that is yours and my tax dollars down the drain just for Uncle Sam to baby sit these illegals. If they really want to make their lives better than they are in Mexico, they can go through the trouble of entering the country the right way.

Actaully it was a proposed idea due to the terrorist attacks and better way to secure the Canadian side of the dorder. A passport is expensive, considering it's $125-$150 depending on where you buy it. As for Mexico, the reason they come here isn't because of passport legality. It's because they are poor and want someone to carry the burden for them.

Ask yourself this simple question:

If you could have a better life in Tokyo, would you leave all that you knew behind (friends, family, etc) and go to a place where you do not speak the language, look like a total outsider and will be excluded by people for those things? But life will be better there?

Once you answer that, you will find out some of the truth you're seeking.
