If the individuals are illegal, they should not be working in the US anyway. If the immigrants are legal they should be treated as anyone else. If someone outside of this group were to take the same actions (missing work unexcused) then would they be fired? If so, then yes you should fire them, but if you would be lenient to others missing work than you should be lenient to all legal workers. It would just depend on what the company's policies are.

First, "Illegal Immigrants" should not be "Illegally Employed" by the employer. Now is a time where the employer can determine where they stand on this issue. Do they want to fight for the right to employee these people or not.

Many employers, I would suspect are already acting in "Illegal" trade so they will probably welcome these workers back. Others may realize that they do not need them as much as they though they did, and find more "Legal" employment practices.

Yes, because they are employed illegally in the first place!

Legal immigrants who attend should not be fired if they used vacation or a personal day. If they called out sick and lied, they should be fired (but of course anyone should be fired if they lie about being sick)!

NO! you can not get fired from work unless you don't show up for 3 days with out notice this will be only one day...the employers who do fire the employees could get into trouble at least that the way it is in Texas..

If they didn't ask for time off in an appropriate manner and receive permission, yes. Why should they have priveleges the rest of us don't? They are planning another round for May 20, I heard this on the news. Should we close everything down every time they feel like protesting?

Business's that hire these people should take advantage of this opportunity and clean up the shop by firing the illegal aliens that they have hired (They were illegal in the first place so they should not fear any legal issues) and hire legal immigrants or real Americans.

The best way to stop them from coming is to stop companies in the US from hiring them in the first place by fining them until they have to shut down when they are caught.

If they are illegal they shouldn't be working here so I say fire them! If they are legal firing is a little strong - maybe a day off without pay but only if they notified the employer in advance.

Most do not have a choice unfortunately. So much for freedom of choice and the reasonable right to make a difference and the right to make a decision. Things like paying the rent and food on the table will take precedence. The right thing is for them to enjoy the rights of all Americans and to do what they feel is just...but it is not going to happen without repercussions,

Yeah, it's called skipping work and whether you're an illegal immigrant or a regular citizen most businesses don't like it. Especially the types of businesses that hire illegals in the first place.

Not fired for attending if they had time off coming. If they had vacation or personal time coming that is fine. If they just skipped work then yes fire them. If they are illegal then they shouldn't be working anyway.
