DougDoug_ I hope you get to read this too. Illegal immigrants are not choosing to ignore our right to control

immigration, what is happening is that the government has already made it extremely tough to become a legal immigrant that they have no choice but to stay here illegally. This is one of the main reasons why these people are walking into the streets and asking for a chance to become legal. They do not want to be illegal or stay illegal, and to become legal immigrants they would have to show that they are a contribution to the US, pay taxes and prove that they are not trouble makers. They would have to pay fines for being illegally in the US plus all the cost that inquires to apply for a green card (legal residency).

Also, let it be clear that they are not asking for immediate citizenship, but instead a path towards citizenship. You have to be a resident for 5 years in order to apply for citizenship. It doesn’t make it right that they are here illegally, but that’s what they want to fix. And they are willing to pay the consequences of staying here illegally (read above).

You're absolutely correct! Ans people fail to realize the extent to which these "illegals" make all of our lives easier. I hope they continue to boycott and protest.

It is extremely tough to get into America for a reason, and when you say they had no choice you mean that someone told them that if they didn't stay illegally they would die?

The real reason these people were walking the streets was to tell Americans that we had better do as they say or they will do their best to interrupt commerce.

Yes they do want to stay illegal. They only want you to think they want to be legal so you will do their fighting for them.

No one has ever denied these people a path to legal citizenship, the U.S. has a policy to citizenship and they chose not to abide by it.

What makes these people you support any better or worse off then anyone else that did the right thing? What should America say to those who are denied access because of these people?

Countries have the right to set and control their own borders in any manner they see fit.

We have this problem now because we have not maintained our own laws.

Don't get caught up by what the Media keeps stating as fact. The 12-16 million illegals have 12-16 million reasons for coming here and not correcting the problems in the country that they can from.

Couldn't agree with you more rolltide1969 ,they are cleaning houses @$40-$60 a pop two or three times a day ,6 days a week and it's probably all 'under the table' so they are basically getting as much as us poor "saps" who went to college and get screwed because we're not married ,have no kids and cannot afford a house because of how highly taxed we single folk are and hence are probably earning the same amount as illegal Consuala who snook over the border and began to spit out baby after baby!

ugh. the majority of illegal immigrants don't want to be a part of our society ever! if they did, don't you think they'd make the effort to learn our freaking language?! most of them are simply making money and sending it home. yeah, it sure seems like they want to contribute to our country. they have other options, i mean, conditions in mexico aren't as bad as some people think....there are people waaaay worse off than them, and you don't see people in dirt poor areas of africa marching over the border and demanding that we meet their needs. look at all the immigrants who have become LEGAL citizens. they worked for it, and they payed a lot for it....so all the others can do the same thing

They do not want to pay taxes. They do everything they can to avoid taxes and personal responsibility. They drive around uninsured. They refuse health insurance because they know they can go to the ER and get treatment for free, and in general they are a burden to the US economy. I wish they would all go back to mexico and march on their own government and cause some change there.

I agree that the path to legal residency should be easier. What I don't believe in is that everything should be bilingual. I lived overseas for awhile, I had to learn the language and quickly when I got there. They should do the same.

They had a choice and they acted illegally. One point that you did not mention was flying a foreign flag over the US flag on U.S. soil. THAT IS A DECLARATION OF WAR. They need to go back to whatever country they come from. I don't care where.

Deport the law breaking illegals and build a wall.

you and pancha both are on the wrong side of this, legally and ethically. They do have a choice. they have free will. they had a choice to move their legs, get the money, take the hike/bus ride, and cross the border. no one put a gun to their head.

    yet.
