Well you need to have a Wireless Router then only you can connect with your Wireless card(

'INTEL PRO/WIRELESS 2200 BG NETWORK). If you have a router then refer the following links:

The complete steps to configure the wireless network are listed on the following URL:

HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario Notebook PCs - Setting Up a Wireless Local Area Network

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument...

HP Pavilion and Compaq Presario Notebook PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Local Area Network Connections http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericDocument...

If you still unable to connect then disable all you're firewalls and check with that including Norton Internet Security(NIS).

If it works then enbale the NIS and work with the follwing link:

Scanning for Internet-enabled programs in Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nip.nsf/16c1d...

If you still unable to connect to the wireless then you need to uninstall/reinstall the wireless drivers.

Note: these steps are provided assuming you have Wirelss Router.

If you still have a issue contact HP Chat Support Team.

You can reach the HP Pavilion Notebook support queue in this URL:

Wireless notebooks connect to the internet through a wireless router. You don't say what kind of internet connection you have, but if your connection goes thru a modem ( hopefully DSL) then there is a wire from the modem to the computer. Go to a store like Best Buy and get a wireless router. The connection now goes from the modem to the router then to the old PC. And the laptop should just pick up the signal from the router. The wireless router has a configuration wizard to walk you thru the steps......pretty easy I think.

All you need to do is if you are soley using ethernet cable then 1.Click on the icon at the bottom right coner, and a thing should appear. 2.Then CLick on Network and Share Center 3. When that windows appears click on Manage Network Connection 4. Right Click on your wireless connection and then when the side thing comes up click on disable. If using wireless do visa versa for killing LAN Connection

A wireless network has to be available before you can connect. You'll find these in many city areas and airports but they do cost to connect to them. Generally people use it because the have a wireless network at home.

I have a Wireless ADSL Router/Modem at home with my Desktop PC hardwired to the modem. I access the network/internet with my laptop using its inbuilt wireless which gives me the freedom to be anywhere in the house with the laptop without cables and still be able to access the internet.

if the connection of the network ur trying to connect to is already been set up u can just click on connect while the wireless is activated and ull be connected directly but if the network ur trying 2 connect to isnt setup yet then u should configure it by setting it up with the required IP addresses.

Wireless network is a network without wire. Means you can connect your notebook to another wireless notebook after configuring their ip address and domain in your network neighbourhood. You can refer to the user's manual which came with HP.

firstly make sure there is a wireless network running around you with strong enough signal and permit of your laptop's access.
