Question for Illegals or Illegal supporters?
I am asking a honest question and would like honest answers.
1 Why do you all disrespect our flag. If you hate our country why are you here? We do not come to your country and burn your flag or hang it upside down.
2 As an Illegal supporter, would you like if your job was given to an illegal for half the pay.
3 Have your child fall behind in school because the classroom is overcrowded and there is no time to do individual help?
I do not think most people on this site are bad people. It is a frustrating and sensitve topic and nobody wants to gives. I to get mad when i think how Illegals expect us to change for them.

1)They are putting attention on themselves for some reason.. I think they are the largest heritage is Mexican. They just do that stuff because they don't think completely.. It isn't like us white folk go around with our English heritage; because we fought for our independence from them.. Not all Mexicans see it as being an American at all, and just are here for money.
2)It keeps a lot of prices in agriculture, cleaning services and landscaping cheap.
3)A lot of them drop out of school, or are in very low level classes; so they are not with the people that will need education in their lives.
4-I forgot to add that not all Mexicans are like this.. just a lot of the ones doing their whole heritage thing.. and I did not know they were going around burning our flag.. And they are diffidently not the only ones that do.. But the ones with 2 generations legal, fit completely well into society

1. I know they don't ALL disrespect our flag, but enough of the illegals do to make it an issue.
2. It goes beyond the illegals getting the job for less money. By doing that, they are bringing down the average wage for everyone.
3. Yes, Andrewdoane, the classrooms are overcrowded even where there are very few illegals, because the money that should be spent there is going to the areas where there are illegals.
4. And how about Medicaid? I am retired and have adopted my 11 year old grandson. I have an income of $787 a month. I cannot find a dentist within 50 miles that will accept Medicaid, and he needs to have his teeth straightened. He has an overbite that interferes with his ability to speak clearly. Covering the cost of one illegal birth would pay for the help he needs. This isn't just for cosmetic reasons. This interferes with his ability to make himself understood.
You may have guessed, I'm not an illegal supporter.

You are so right with the points that you made. I do think they should respect the country that they are seeking freedom in and that they should not be demanding the citizens of the country to change but have you ever thought about the conditions they face if they were sent back home? Maybe this is what stirring such rach in them. The thought of being sent back to a country with such monetary and political struggle, wars and threats of being killed. They are just reflecting on the conditions of their past and that may also rage them. But here is a point to think about. There is no true American other than the Native Indians. They were the first persons here. Whether you are white, black, purple, blue or yellow.....each other ethnic and cultural community migrated here. So do you think the native indians should be protesting how the white man took their lands and tried to kill them out. How the white man was not true to his words to help the natives, but he brought in his own help (slaves-blks) instead? How this caused many problems that were not here before like revolts, civil wars, revolutions etc. Come on now, you see where I am coming from. If you are not a native indian then you are practically an American Immigrant yourself with your family originating some place in Europe if your family history hard enough. Yea you do have a right to be frustrated though about the way they are going about things. They are practically bullying the American public to let them in, which is not right. There is a process for everything, so why can't they follow that process? I am not an American citizen but here in my country we too face a massive immigration problem, so I totally know what you're talking about and feeling. All I can tell you is to approach the matter passively and you can start your own demonstration. Just don't be a bully like they are. Realize that they law has the last say and that they are ILLEGAL. So they have no say iight :-)

I'm a supporter. To answer your questions:
1) Hanging a flag upside-down is actually not a sign of disrespect, but a sign of distress. It seems reasonable to me that people use the flag in that regard - certainly this issue is a matter of great distress to a big portion of the population. As for the burning, much as I don't like it, it's somewhat logical that to protest the actions of the US government people would destroy a symbol of that government. Same deal as in the 60s. It isn't that people hate the US, it's that people disagree with the political decisions of the US government, and the flag is a direct symbol of the *government* as well as the nation as a whole. To say that they hate the country is to misunderstand their point.
2) No one wants their job taken away and given to *anyone* else, of course. Realistically, however, most illegal immigrants work jobs that most "legal" workers do not and will not fill, such as garment industry workers and farm laborers, for example. If you do a bit of research, you will find that almost no legal worker in these industries is complaining about illegal immigrants, because they know that we *depend* on them in a big way. I have lived in places like California and Wisconsin, and I can tell you that their economies would be in major trouble if there were no illegal immigrants. This is the point that illegal immigrants and their supporters are trying to make - the US won't admit the dependency it has on illegal immigrants, and instead is abusing them. When our very conservative president even admits that we should find a legal way for them to be here, you have to figure that there's a *reason.* Realistically, our economy is built like a pyramid - we all depend on *a lot* of unskilled, low-pay labor. Most people who are unemployed aren't willing to fill those positions because they have been trained/have skill in a particular field. If you lost your job, would you be willing to go pick grapes or sew t-shirts for a living? Probably not. And that's not a bad thing, just realize that part of the reason you get to have the life you do is that there *are* people who are willing to do that labor, and a great many of them are illegal immigrants.
3) The education question isn't a matter of illegal immigrants. It's a matter of a bad school system who can't handle the "legal" students it has, let alone any illegal immigrant students. If you want your child to succeed, I suggest you get involved in school reform, not discrimination against illegal immigrants.

1. I think it is totally outright rude to insult a country that you come to seek opportunities and better life. Insulting a country's flag means insulting the country itself. If you don't like to live in the country, please, by all means, leave. The doors are open.
2. It is not much about who gets what pay for doing what. It is all about who hires illegals as cheap labor. I think the laws should be tighten up to punish those rich business people looking only at their profit.
3. The classrooms will be crowded, no matter what. There isn't enough teachers or budget in the system to have a good classes going. I don't like the idea of teachers shouldering the whole responsibilites of teaching the kids. It is up to the parents to teach them. It is becasue I believe kids should spend more time with their parents then the teachers.
On the other hand, illegals do pay their fair share of taxes into the system. Using fake SS#, they pay into the system from their paychecks a lot more than a citizen at their income level have to. Well, they also have to buy stuff for their living and the sale taxes also go into the system. I don't have any problems with kids having an education.

Illegals draw welfare by stealing people's social security numbers and identities. That means there are a lot of people being directly hurt by these people as well. Innocent people are having their credit ratings ruined, having IRS problems, and social security problems. If someone who has had their social security number stolen gets married, if either spouse dies or become disabled then they can be denied their benefits.
My family moved to the US before WWII. Those of my family that didn't make it over got killed by the death camps. Our family assimilated to the American culture. We didn't expect the Americans to change to suit us. The illegal immigrants from Mexico are not civilized like that.
They not only changed the National Anthem to Spanish, they changed the words. They already burn our flag and hang our flag upside down. They waved the Mexican flag during a lot of their protests. Some schools have stopped hanging the American flag and forbidden students from wearing clothes with any part of the American flag on their clothing all to keep from offending the Mexicans. It's nothing short of an attack of our country, not only by the illegal aliens, but those who seek to appease them.
I am tired of the stereotype that Americans wouldn't do the work that illegals do. Illegals do all kinds of jobs for less than minimum wage which drives the wages down for U.S. citizens. Construction jobs are an example. There are lots of illegals doing construction jobs that Americans used to do because the companies can keep more of the profits if they pay less for the workers. All that does is make companies wealthier and Americans poorer. Illegals are stealing jobs that Americans have done for years.
If you go to a country and refuse to assimilate, continuing to speak your own language then you are really not an immigrant -- you're a colonist ... and that's what the Mexicans are doing, they're colonizing the American Southwest as part of their "reconquista" Read about mecha in the link I provided and you'll see what the Mexicans real agenda is.

1. Not all immigrants disrespect the flag. That's a stereotype. And plenty of white Americans hate America and burn the flag - ever been to a Vietnam or Iraq war protest? Mostly white folks there.
2. In this country we go by the market. You give the job to the person who will do it the best for the least money. If you don't want to have to fight for jobs, get qualified for a better job. I wouldn't like it if my job was given to a high school dropout for half the money (regardless of race) but high school dropouts can't do my job! I went to college so that I could get a good job. You ought to do the same thing.
3. Overcrowding in schools is not related to immigration as much as it's related to underfunding schools. Give more money to schools and the quality of education will be better. We have plenty of overcrowding in schools in areas where there are very few immigrants.

1.THEY DO NOT DISRESPECT THE FLAG I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY ILLEGAL BURNING THE US FLAG. THEY HAVE BEEN CARRYING THE AMERICAN FLAGS IN ALL THE MARCHES AS A SYMBOL TO SHOW EVERYONE HOW MUCH THEY LOVE THIS COUNTRY, AND THEIR RESPECT FOR THE FLAG.. IN ARIZONA THEY BURN A MEXICAN FLAG IN CASE YOU DIDNT KNOW..
2. IT IS NOT THE ILLEGALS FAULT THAT THEY GET THOSE JOBS I KNOW THEY ARE NOT TOO HAPPY GETTING PAY $5 AN HOUR. ITS THE EMPLOYERS RESPONSABILITY TO CHOOSE THE EMPLOYEES..
3. THE SCHOOLS...I THINK THAT IS JUST AN EXCUSE IF YOU ARE SMART YOU ARE SMART AND THATS THE END OF IT. THE PARENTS HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP THEIR CHILDREN AT HOME TOO!! DONT BLAME IT ON OTHER PEOPLE.
THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO CHANGE, THEY JUST WANT TO ME TREATED LIKE HUMANS, AND THEY ARE HERE JUST TO HAVE A BETTER LIFE FOR THEIR FAMILIES. THEY DO NOT HARM ANYBODY THEY PAY TAXES THEY CONTRIBUTE TO THE ECONOMY AND THEY DO LOVE THIS COUNTRY AND RESPECT ALL THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.. THEY ARE FIGHTING IN IRAQ AGAINST TERRORISM THERE IS ALOT OF GOOD STUFF THE ILLEGALS, MEXICANS, IMMIGRANTS IN GENERAL ARE DOING FOR THIS COUNTRY AND NOBODY SEEMS TO REALIZE THAT..

1. More people than just illegals burn and disrespect our flag.
2. Talk to the companies sending American jobs overseas and giving it to people for half the pay.
3. The illegals are not the reason the US education system sucks. It's rotten thanks to people like President Bush who fail and putting a decent education plan into practice, and states who don't properly fund schools or pay teachers what they deserve.
- 2 decades ago
1. Trust me half of the people that are disrespecting the flag are Americans.
2. They do not come over here to take our jobs, being insecure is not going to get you anywhere! If you feel someone is going to take your job obviously you do not do a good job!
3. I am sorry if your children blame thier bad grades on over crowded schools that is just B.S. They jsut need to study harder, And stop whining!
All the illegals want is a better life for theirselves and their family! It gets me mad when Americans are so insecure in their life that they have to blame innocent people for their bad lives!! That is how I see it!!
