you hve gotten all sorts of flawed distorted answers here. so i'llgive you an unbiased factual one.

catholicism is christianity. it is the first and oldest christianity.

the question would not be "christian" or"catholic", it would be "protestant" or "catholic:....both forms of christianity.

Catholicism is a religion. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus. A way of life. Not a religion. Christianity would be what you want.

Catholicism seems to be a lot of rituals, whereas Christianity is simply doing. "Best" is a relative word. I like to think that all are capable to what they know is right without having someone to forgive them in this life.

No matter how many confessions are done or Hail Mary's spoken, the truth lies beyond us. Just my opinion.

catholicism is a sect of christianity, kind of like protestants are a kind of christians too, etc.

catholics are often seen as much stricter, more ritualistic... more old fashioned...

i dont think there is a best/worst in a situation like this, maybe just read up on the beliefs of a couple religions and see what fits you best.

if you believe in God is the best one read the bible and learn about yourself, the world and other people cuz nowadays religion is a very complicated belief.

Catholicism, because it is closer to the original church.

I think that you mean the difference between Catholics and Prodestants. Prodestants believe that they can have a direct relationship with God and Catholics believe that you have to have a relationship with God through and intermediary - the Church.

So are you ready for an independant relationship with God or do you need social ceremony and cultural context?

well, i'm not sure you can really get the facts by asking which is best. catholicism is basically a cult of sorts. they worship mary and ask priests to forgive them instead of God. Christianity is, of course to me, the best b/c we just live from the bible. we ask God for forgiveness. and we worship God. so...that's my take. :) God bless you and take care!
