If a man rebuffed your advances on the first date, what would you think of him?

Would you think he was coy? Old Fashioned? Playing hard to get? Gay? I've personally done this twice (in my dating days) and ended up marrying them both.

That he was a gentleman. That he wanted to get to know me from the inside out. Coy? No....Old fashioned? pffffft. I would think he just had his head on straight and didn't over think this at all.He was just content being him and letting me be me and letting the friendship build without forcing an issue. How cool is that when it happens on its own? :)

Guess it would depend on who asked who on the date in the first place...BUT theres a definite challenge to the situation if you find the guy attractive and he's playing it cool...it also kinda adds an element of respect to your opinion of him, as he is going against the prototype of the typical alpha male..

What would a guy think if a woman rebuffed his advances on a first date..something similar??

I am not attracted to guys who desperately want to bang me. No one who has ever "tried" to pick me up has succeeded. But if I was actually rebuffed on a date I would get embaressed and then I would make it a goal of mine to make him cave. The longer he held out the more fun it would be. And when I finally won I just know by then we would both be ready.

HAHA! People on here think you're gay. :) But, as I do understand what you're asking, if you do it the right way it's awesome. It may feel like you're playing hard to get but that just makes a woman want you more. I think more than anything it gives you the persona of a badass and that drives women crazy... in a good way.

Wait a minute, are we allowed to do that now? *Thumbs through official 'Union of Guys' handbook* See? Right here, Article 4 subsection 3: "It is forbidden to refuse any woman at at time. With the following exceptions, 1, you forgot to bring a condom. 2, She wants a threesome, with another man. 3,She knows both your phone number and address. 4, Her favorite movie is Fatal Attraction. Should any of these conditions not apply it is your sacred duty to fulfill your obligation as a guy by humping anything that moves"

I would NOT make advances on the first date. If by some momentary lapse of judgment, I did then I would respect the man for being able to control his lust and think rationally. Most women would think he is playing hard to get and then try even harder, which may explain your marriages.

He may think you are rushing him too fast. Slow down, let the relationship develop. If he is a descent guy, you will probably never have a second date. It is also saying that he is not needy and does not just want to have sex with you. Sounds like you met a healthy one!!! Compare this to the two marriages. They both ended in divorce. I wonder why. You picked needy and unhealthy guys. Work on yourself--

I for one wouldn't make advances on a first date but if I did and he rebuffed me....I would say

    WOW, what a great guy.....

Nice to see that real men still exist and treat me with respect.

This happened to me twice back in the day. In both cases I just felt a little too desperate. I really didn't think twice about what they were. It was all about me.

I did not marry either of them.

I would think he's just not interested and I wouldn't miss a beat -I'd move on pronto dude! I can see where most women would then try to get the guy to like them -as if they really need approval but then I've never been like 'most women'. So if he was playing 'hard to get' to get me more interested ...it'd backfire in a big way!!

If a man rebuffed my advances, I would think one of us is not gay.

Wait, did that come out right?
