Download the utilities for you hard drive. They are available from the manufacture of your drives site. Zero the drive with there utility. Most computers will boot from the 98 CD - Set the boot order in the BIOS to boot Floppy drive first, Cd Next, and C (Hard Drive) Last. Some computers do not boot from CD and you will need a boot 98 SE boot disk- See sources. You may also have to get drivers for your computer that may not be on the windows CD - Go to you computer manufactures site - they usually have them. KillDisk will work if there is no utility for you drive - See Sources. When you go to put 98 in after wiping the drive you will have to let Windows format it - Go with large disk support - FAT 32.

To install Windows 98... Try to put in simplest way possible...
1.When you are in safe mode with your computer on insert the Windows 98 disc into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Then restart your computer. When your computer boots back up the screen should say to "install from disc hit any key" or something like that.
3. Then follow the instructions the notifications give you. Once you get to the place where it asks what partiton to install Windows 98 on.
4.Assuming you do not have two operating systems. Select the partiton that has Windows 98 installed on and select to delete everything off it.
5.Then select the partition that preferably has the most disk space. And that supports the NTFS file system and then follow the remaning instructions.
Hope this helps.

If you're trying to uninstall windows 98, then I suggest you buy a new computer.

First of all, move all required data from the c drive, if any.
then format the c drive with a boot floppy or CD (NOTE: this will destroy all data from the specified drive).
change the first boot device as CD in the BIOS.
then boot from Win 98 CD and proceed.

If you still have the win98 CD that came with the computer, then just pop it in and boot from it. Should be pretty straight-foward from there.
