My fancy goldfish (fantail oranda) seems to be having a buoyancy problem?
I feed him (it's only one of the two with the problem)with special fancy goldfish food that sinks and is supposed to avoid swim-bladder problems. However, after I feed them one goldfish seems to become far to buoyant in the water and really has to swim to get to the bottom of the tank - the second he stops moving his tail he floats up to the surface. He does stay right way up (apart from when he ends up sideways from swimming so hard to get to the bottom of the tank). I feed them about 6pm in the evening and he's always fine again when I get up in the morning (about 5.30am). Lisbet doesn't have this problem at all so I think it may be a problem with Mr Darcy (the fish with the problem) not the food??

It's the food.
Orandas are genetically prone to swimbladder problems because their bodies are so compacted.
The pellets that you are feeding sink to prevent your fish from gulping air at the surface. The pellets themselves are full of air though. If you feed pellets you need to soak them in water for two minutes before feeding.
Another diet problem is that your pellets are high in protein. Goldfish eat a lot of vegetation. They become constipated on such high protein diets. You should supplement their diet 3 days a week with shelled peas. You can also put a lettuce clip with romaine but they will prefer the peas.
It really hepls to starve your fish for 3 days before you change the diet. This will clear out the digestive system. It sounds like your problems aren't that bad though, it may not be neccesary.
I have an extremely sensitive Fantail who is a varocious eater. After eating he is always a little floaty but it passes after the pressure from his stomach relieves his swim bladder.
I have also heard you can burb fish that have serious problems. I've never tried it though. Somehow I don't think they would appreciate it.
If the change in diet doesn't help he may have a minor bacterial infection. They sell medicated food that helps.
Good Luck!!!

does this hapen after feeding live food?it sounds like mild swim bladder to me.it could be that your fish is just constipated.do you feed them veg?what i would do is boil a few frozen peas for 4mins,allow to cool, take the shell off & squeeze between your fingers.feed to your fish.do this for a couple of days.veg such as this should be fed regularly as part of your goldfishes diet aswell as live food.daphnia is also quite good for there digestive system.

He is dying I don't think it has anything to do with the food you are feeding him.
