I am Canadian citizen and would like to work in USA as an Administrative/Executive Assistant.?

I have applied to several jobs had a few interviews but not been successful. Can anyone suggest what I can do to attain this type position. Under the free trade act my job type is not listed in there. What are my options? Do you know anyone that is interested in hiring such a position? I have many years of experience in this field but mainly in healthcare.
