Why do people type in caps?

Ugh, why do people type their answers IN CAPS? I don't understand it, I always skip over their answers because they generally have a large ego and actually don't know what they are talking about or for some reason they are yelling at me. I think its dumb. What do you think?

They're using an old Apple II Plus and there was no lower case on those computers. (Anyone remember those things!)

My guess is sometimes people are yelling (not just to you) but yelling about something. Or, they could be typing and not realize their cap lock is on and just don't feel like taking it off, or maybe they just don't care. I'm with you, I too tend to skip over questions and answers with caps because I too find it annoying.

Usually, a person who types in all caps is lazy. They just hit the Caps Lock and type. They think they are above proper grammar and that people that find them annoying are being petty. But then if you ask them to be considerate, they laugh and say no. They are rude and do not care if it makes them appear uneducated. Oh well. Children (and immature adults) will be children I guess.

Well, englishprince26 & jimbob_ellen have just proven my pint. Thank you!

It is the same when you are on a chat site. Normally they are yelling at you. There are some people out there I guess that think they need to be aggressive with others. They are probably abusive, disruptive, immature, and just don't know proper computer educate. Sorry you had to encounter such a rude person. Better luck in the future.

I think it is also because the person has a big ego and they are trying to prove their point, or maybe they are so dumb that they can't figure out how to turn it off.

Because most people who buy computers can't type. Plus they're ignorant. Personally, I feel that anyone who is buying a computer needs to pass a typing test. They fail - they get a typewriter.

I learned to type properly in Grammar School.

It's because they don't know how to use grammar properly and therefore cover it up by TYPING LIKE THEY'RE YELLING AT EVERYONE. A few exclamations hammer home the point that they can't use correct punctuation either.

it is to express anger or show empasis on a particular word in the type world. I think it is reall f*&^ing annoying when people type whole letters or memos all in caps!

Yes it's either they are yelling and mad about something or they want to get their point across. Or maybe they just wanna attract attention. It's abit rude to use it unnecessarily...
