If you stay with someone even if you don't want to, just because you feel sorry for them... well let's just say I'd rather be dumped on my birthday or Christmas than to have someone who doesn't truly want to be with me. You did him a huge favor! Besides, it was only a year, not like 10... he'll get over you in no time... so stop worrying and get out there and have some fun with your friends!
