Yoga practice doesn't require you to pray to anyone. It's about meditation and self relaxation.

If you feel like it is blasphemous, then yes. If you have no problem with it and see it as a way of honoring the gurus and saying 'thank you', then no. It is a matter of perspective. Some would have no problem, others feel like they are compromising. Chances are the yoga teacher won't be offended if you refrain from this gesture. Afterall, you're still there to do the yoga. If asked I am certain that you can politely and respectfully explain your reasoning and I am sure that the teacher will understand your situation and have no problem with it.

As for whether it is blasphemous, listen to your heart. It will guide you.

I believe it is, God says that you should have no other gods, and praying to some other deity is pretty much a sin to make it clear. I would stop and instead continue to pray to God and decide whether or not you want to continue practicing yoga if it is reflecting another religion other than Christianity. The Bible also says to avoid the appearances of evil it does not show a good example to non-believers if they see you praying to another God and contradicting the faith. Tried not to step on your toes sorry if that hurt LOL =)

I personally could NEVER pray to anyone but God/Jesus. There's alot going on out there to get us to pray to false idols so that our prayers go unheard by God. Yoga's great, but why the "prayer" to gurus? I'd be very upset about that and seek out another class.

The Bible says there is one God and the only way to pray to Him is through Jesus.

There is only one sin of the spirit and that is the blasphamy of the Holy Ghost; which mean to deny God by beling seperated from his spirit. So if you are one with Gods' own Spirit you can not be seperated from Him. Then it is only a matter after that of what yu choose in your liberty. Let God spak in you of wat to do.

If you are a born again Christian it is not a practice that God would have us to be involved in.
