    Apparently they do.

They go to school for exorcism lessons: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/4272689.stm

The catholic church no longer "officially" supports exorcisms. But there are still a few priests I'm sure that would be willing to remove the demons from your children with a few injections of their Love of Jesus...

I believe that some are, but it's probably rare. As I recall, a priest has to be ordained by a bishop to do so.

Here's a link to the Catholic Encylopedia's entry on exorcists:

I have an exorcism medal, but it's a simple one. It's just a St. Benedict medal, but on the back is a Latin exorcism formula. My mother believed that it could ward off demons.

"Solemn exorcisms, according to the Canon law of the church, can only be exercised by an ordained priest (or higher prelate), with the express permission of the local bishop, and only after a careful medical examination to exclude the possibility of mental illness."

    Hope that helps! <3

prayers for exocism are in the roman ritual, but not all priests study how to do it..it is a dangerous undertaking.

remember the church doesnt just exorcise anybody..they want a psychiatric test done etc. before getting into it. like the movie the exocist..lots of what happended there are documented in actual cases.. whether you believe in the devil, demons or evil or not...seems definitely to be some evil around

i guess some priest still do that. i think last year there had been an Exorcism Convention held on the vatican.

A house divided against itself cannot stand. Training? I see no where in scripture where Jesus told his diciples they must be trained to cast out demons. Oh yeah...that's right...He instructed them to stock up on "holy water", crucifixes, brush up on their latin, rub those rosery beads, but above all get a secular psychiatrist to verify its a demonic possesion and not just a mentally ill person. What the heck do you all think mental illness is? No, He said they needed prayer and faith. Catholic "priests" have not cornered the market for "driving out demons". Anyone who calls upon the power of God the Holy Spirit can cast out demons. That's why the priesthood is not so jazzed to do it..because they are an apostate church with no authority and they know it.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Read all of Mark 9. If you need more scripture reference on this I will gladly post it for you. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><
