During clear night, there are about 6000 (six thousand) visible stars from each hemisphere of the Earth. However, it is for sure that there is no certain way of calculating the exact number of "stars up there", because of explosions of old stars and creations of new stars, that occur almost every minute, somewhere in the universe.

Very roughly 10 to the power 11 galaxies are there and each has 10 to the power 11 stars in it. So there are 10 to the power 22 stars.

Here we go again, Our solar system which contains our sun (which is a star) resides in the milky way galaxy. It is estimated that there are between 200 and 400 billion stars in the milky way galaxy. The number of galaxies in the universe is unknown but Carl Sagan suggested that there are as many galaxies in the universe as there are grains of sand on the earth! Quite a few huh? You couldnt represent this with a number.

The number of stars in the Universe are astronomical.

The count is based upon the calutlation of the mass contained in this Universe. Knowing the mass of our galaxy we can calculate the number of galaxies in the Universe

aprox in the order of a trillion.

Than knowing the Number of stars in our galaxy (including the sun) and multiplying by the number of Galaxies the tolal number of stars can be estimated.

    Many,many,many,many,many,many....

But,what is interesting, you know that light travels to Earth for about 5 min? So,you can't see the same star twice. You can see the light of some other star that "died" before.Fascinating, isn't it?

Exactly 25,33,68,995 in the night......wonder how

if u say its more than the above, then the extra are the ones which used to earlier twinkle in day time now shifted to night.

and if u say its less than the above, then the missing are the ones which are twinkling in day time shift...

I should get my 10 pts for this....
