Do you suffer from Migraines?

Does anyone else suffer from daily migraines? What have your doctors attributed them to? Which medications have your tried? Did they work?

Update:

I have been getting mine for 7 years, I have seen a neurologist, had the MIR done, nothing there (except brain). He blames mine on the brain's ability to recycle Seratonin. He says my brain doesn't produce enough Seratonin, so he put me on a Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitor. Currently taking Effexor, used to try Prozac and Celexa also. Aleve usually knocks them out, but was just curious what other people were using. Don't try TOPOMAX, it ruined me! I was dizzy LAYING DOWN, I was sick, clumsy, couldn't form sentances, couldn't think clearly, it was aweful! And, I was only on it for 4 days!

i suffer from recurrent migranes. the medicine that dr.'s prescribe all will put you to sleep. what i try to do is catch the warning signs. slight headache, blurred vision, flashing lights in eyes, or dizzy. and take a bc powder and 2 advil or 2 aleve. some times it helps but not always. if not get a cold towel lay in a cold quiet room, pray and try to sleep it off sometimes it takes a few days. just try to watch what you eat, stay out of the sun. and just try to see what may be causing them. oh yaeh also try not to stress. i hope i helped!

I use perscription Maxalt and so does my Mom it works well for both of us. Try to avoid the "trigger" foods such as cheeses, chocolate, nuts etc.. Try writing down what you eat daily for a month and see if you can narrow down what you're triggers are. My mom even discovered she can't eat anything with cinnamon in it. I guess I'm lucky in the fact that I usually have a warning one is coming, spots, wiggly lines, flashing. But God help me if I wake up with one then it takes 2 Maxalts or a trip to the dr for a shot.

I get them too and for the most part nothing helps. If i realize that one is coming before it hits full force, Excedrin will usually help. My biggest problem though is that I wake up with them so by that point nothing helps. I have discovered though that caffiene does seem to bring them on in some cases as well as alcohol. Another trigger for me personally seems to be brown rice which really sucks cause I love brown rice. I have tried Immetrex and another one (forgot the name) with no sucess. My husband will usually just let me sleep it off if he doesnt have to work.

the best medication is something you probebly have in your medicine cabinet!!! ready... nose spray!!! I read an article in a health magizine about people that suffered from daily Migraines, like myself...(some times I have them daily for weeks then I don't have one for a month then they come back... my mother is the same way. ) well 56% of suffers found that the saline in medicated nasal spray cured there migrain...hey it's worth a try you might be one in that 56% catagory...I was!!!

I take Imitrex 100mg, go in my room, keep it dark and quiet, and an ice pack. I have them several times a month. I have had some really severe ones, ruptured the veins in my eyes.

See a doctor is the most important thing to do.

Yes, I get migraines on a weekly basis. They've gotten so bad that I've thrown up & had spots in my eyes. You need to go to a Neurologist so that he can prescribe pills for you. I can't remember the name of mine, but they work really well.

my sister gets them really bad and usually stays home from school at least one day a week. the doctor told her to stay away from smoked foods like sausage and cheese. i know she uses Excedrin migraine or tension headache. it usually works for her. Good Luck!
