I have old record albums that I would like to put onto a CD. Is that possible?

I have some very old albums and cassette tapes (especially gospel) that I would like to have on a cd. I have tried to see if the music was already available on cd but it wasn't. I've checked Ares, Limewire, Lycos Rhapsody to see if the songs were available but to no avail. Is there a way to get these on to a cd or am I just s.o.l?

i was able to find most of my cassette/album music (including gospel) on limewire and connect.com. if your collection is that hard to find, then they must be real good songs! i would like that playlist.

There is special equipment to do this, just like in the old days when we wanted to record a cassette tape. Same idea. Check with your closest music store, they can help you find the best and most affordable solution.

Go to Best Buy or any electronic store. You can buy a cd-burner for you home stereo. I'm not talking about for your computer, I'm talking about a separate unit for your stereo. I have one. I've tranferred some LP's and cassette tapes onto CD.

Hook up a cd recorder to your stereo.

Play them on the turntable and tape deck and record them on a cd.

That would be the only way if you cant download them somewhere else.

You can buy various USB & PC cards that will allow you to connect other media items (record players/tape players) to your PC & then with the relevant software you can turn your LP's into MP3's ......... a good PC shop should be able to help!
