Does a person have the right to behave disrespectfully just because s/he is older than you?
What would you do if s.o. does so ?

Nope. Respect is a two way street. Some people, however, feel entitled. I am having this very problem with my sis-in-law (although she is younger). Personally, I plan not to take the crap anymore. I have tried to be the peacekeeper, but fact is, there is no excuse for being rude and disrespectful. Just tell them they are not entitled and unless they can give you respect, they arent getting any either. Then just turn and walk away. If they are anything like my sis-in-law..they will still try to antagonize you, but just toss them a quarter and tell them to call someone who cares. Good luck!

Being older means a person should have more wisdom learned. Being older, a person should make themselves a role model to those who are younger than them.
Your question though made the older person thinks they could do whatever they like without being hold up to the consequences. In this situation, being older made the person even more irresponsible for his/her actions and he/she has no right to do it to anybody, younger or older than him/her.
If it's me, I'll speak out my mind. If you keep quiet people thinks, it's OK with you to be treated the way they do but when you speak out and let them know what you think of their behavior, I'm sure they may not like you but at least, you're not a subject of their bullies or disrespectful act anymore.

Short answer, no. Depending on the age difference, I would let them know, in my own special way, of how I think they are incorrect. If said person was, say, 90, then I would probably be polite. If they were, say, a day, then I would ***** slap the sh!t outta them, and tell them to grow up. Kinda a case by case scenario, really.

No way! Being disrespectful at any age is a sign of not liking their selves!

No they do not. I would try to call them aside and tell them what they are doing is wrong. Hopefully this will encourage them to act their age.
