Does the Broker take a cut when they are sold??

Are they easily sold ??

Are they sold at value price or is there some kind of discount??

Thanks Ruston

    1) No (They just charge a very small comission. Typically less than $9.99)

    2) Yes (It takes a few seconds)

    3) Market Price

If you want, you can open a brokerage account with at least $500.00 in 15 minutes or less at Scottrade and then you can buy a Mutual Fund for $5.00 and then sell it one minute later so you can see for yourself how this really works. (It will cost you 2 comissions of $7.00 but education is priceless)

  • Depends on the broker and whether the fund is load or no load. Some brokers do not charge to dispose of load funds, those funds in which a broker collects a fee from the fund manager. A broker fee is generally tacked to the sale of a no-load fund since brokers are not compensated by the fund manager. Funds disposed of on the open market collect the previous day's closing price.

Hello, The broker actually gets a normal maintenence fee when it's sold aka a brokerage fee. They're sold at market price.
