I paint in the realist/naturalist style, but people don't buy my paintings. See details.?

I don't want to work in the modern styles because I don't get any sense of accomplishment from them. However, it seems they attract more buyers. I don't want to compromise my principles and my sense of aesthetics. I just want to know: what's the deal? BTW, I live in the Philippines.

You have to decide whether you are painting to produce a marketable product, or to express your own vision.

No explanation for consumer tastes. Besides, popular preference changes all the time. Maybe next year your style is in fashion.

There is no right or wrong to it, it just is what it is.

Often, painting in the realist/naturalist style is seen as illustration and less as art, than are modern or post-modern works.

    1. Maybe your paintings are ****.

    2. Maybe you haven't put them infront of the right audience yet?

    3. Van Gogh didn't sell a painting while he was alive.

    4. Don't stop painting.

maybe you are selling in the wrong market, You could try ebay and see if other people around the world like your paintings. Or do them to order. Just make sure you charge enough postage Good Luck!!

This is a hard question to answer without seeing your paintings. Maybe you are asking to much money for them.

First u decide which one one want Money or self satifaction? If you money then change yourself accordingly but if you want to satisfy yourself then never give up from your own talent! Just its a matter of time your luck is not favoured. So choice is on you!!
