Brasso -- google it and you'll see that it's very popular among ipod users. it costs less than $3 at any grocery store, meant for polishing metals and acrylic. it'll work on the plastic part, but not so much for the metal. lots of elbow grease required (6-10 applications minimum), but the little scratches will vanish.

I've had my Ipod for 6 months, and as much as I try and keep from scratching, it is pretty much impossible to get a couple scrapes here and there. I have an Ipod sock I keep on it, and it has worked well. I only have a couple little marks, nothing major, but you can't get scratches off. Just make sure you take care of the screen.

It actually does work as well on the metal as it does on plastic. And it is very popular with iPods. If you want something better though, look into Applesauce (the brand), iCleaner, or iDrops online.

Gadgets get scratches. I know it's difficult to accept at first but you'll get over them with time.
